Live Happy Appreciate Life

Choosing to Live a Happy Life

Written by Author, Randi G. Fine

Life is an unpredictable series of ups and downs, joys and sorrows, pains and pleasures, times of darkness and times of light. We never know what to expect from one minute to the next or from one day to the next.

If we allow life to take us on an emotional rollercoaster, and it will if we let it, our lives will always feel out of control. Unless we become the master of our outlooks and attitudes we will never be happy except during reprieves; for no more than a few fleeting moments at a time. The sooner we realize this, the better our lives will flow.

Having a positive attitude does not mean that we will never have to deal with uncomfortable emotions. We will experience them on and off throughout life; that is a healthy part of being human. And it is necessary to feel the entire weight of these emotions when they come over us in order to heal and move on.

But there is a sunny side and a cloudy side to all that we experience. How we choose to view any given situation is entirely up to us.  Furthermore, the light in which we choose to view these undesirable events will determine the effectiveness of our recovery from them.

Knowing that we can always improve on current situations is what keeps us moving forward, allows us to grow. But we must choose to be happy in the now if we want to be happy in the future, because the future will eventually become the now with a future that we hope will be better.

So today’s message is that life is good. Show heartfelt appreciation for whatever life gives you and life will be more than gracious in return.
