What I Know to be True on This Birthday 2010

Today is my birthday.  Since so many years have passed by while I wasn’t looking, I thought I’d take a moment to reflect back on what I learned and know to be true.  Here’s my list:

  1. I know that love is all that matters.  It is eternal.  We don’t have to see it, hear it, or touch it…but we can always feel it.
  2. I know that age brings wisdom and that it’s hard earned.
  3. I know that sunshine makes me happy and clouds don’t.
  4. I know that I despise everything about exercising, but that it is entirely necessary if I want to stay healthy in body and spirit, attempt to reverse gravity, and ward off osteoporosis.
  5. I know that I love animals and don’t ever want to eat them.
  6. I know that old friends are life’s irreplaceable treasures, and that  time is irrelevant in regard to these priceless relationships.
  7. I know that I must be artistically, musically, or literarily creative every moment of my existence.
  8. I know that I am athletically challenged.
  9. I know that a loving, not a vengeful God is present in all our lives.
  10. I know that spirituality and religion are two entirely different things.
  11. I know that every baby’s birth is a magical, heaven sent miracle.
  12. I know that I love my children unconditionally, and that they are an infinite source of joy for my heart and soul.
  13. I know that humidity makes for a bad hair day.
  14. I know that chocolate and ice cream are addicting.
  15. I know that if I eat one cookie or one potato chip, I’ll eat the entire bag.
  16. I know that each and every one of us is more powerful in our thoughts than we’d ever imagine.
  17. I know that I’ve been here before but that I refuse to come back.
  18. I know that nothing learned is ever wasted or lost.
  19. I know that lizards have much more personality than people give them credit for.
  20. I know that when we’re healthy and our families are healthy nothing else really matters.
  21. I know that this list could go on for days but that I will bore my readers to death if I continue writing it.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank my readers from the bottom of my heart for their tremendous support.  I can never express the gratitude that I feel for all the positive feedback and encouraging comments that many of you have graciously shared with me.  You are all a blessing.
